Pausing protection

Stop text-backs for a while without touching your carrier settings. Calls are still logged.

Updated

Pause protection when you are on holiday, when someone else is covering the phone, or while you sort out a problem. Paused means: missed calls are still logged in your inbox, no text-back is sent, and your protection status shows Paused.

  1. Open Settings, Phone and forwarding.

  2. On the Pause protection card, switch it on and add a short reason if you want one. The reason is kept on that card while protection is off, so anyone on the team who opens the page can see why texts stopped.

  3. Save. Text-backs stop immediately.

  4. Switch it off and save to resume. The forwarding status goes back to Active if a test call was verified before, otherwise to Not configured until you test again.

What still happens while paused

  • Missed calls are logged with the reason Paused, and you are still alerted about them.
  • Customers can still text you, and replies you write from the inbox still go out.
  • Your booking page stays online, and confirmations and reminders still go out.
  • The automatic reply to a customer who texts asking to book is off while paused.

To stop forwarding entirely, dial your carrier's turn-off code (see Set up call forwarding). To stop the service, see Cancelling.
