Editing your wording

Rewrite the missed-call and after-hours texts on every plan, and every other text on Pro.

Updated

On this page

Every text starts with wording written for your industry, with your business name in it. Change it under Settings, Messages and automation. Each message is saved on its own, and Reset to default brings the industry wording back.

Placeholders

Placeholders in curly braces are filled in when the text is sent. Use only the ones listed for that message; an unknown placeholder is removed. When a value is empty, the placeholder and the stray punctuation around it are tidied away.

Keep it short

  • Each message is limited to 600 characters. Carriers split anything over 160 characters into pieces, and long texts arrive slower and read worse.
  • Keep your business name in the first sentence. Carriers and customers both expect to know who is texting.
  • On Starter, the sentence with the booking link is rewritten into a reply prompt automatically, so you never text a dead link.

See it on a real phone

Use Send me a test on the missed-call text to receive it on your alert number exactly as a customer would. The test counts as one text.
